Traffic Control and Traffic Management Refresher Courses Melbourne

In Victoria, all traffic control qualifications are only valid for three years. The courses below are only available for students who have already completed these two units.

RIIWHS205E Control traffic with a stop-slow bat

You will study and learn:

  • Prepare to control traffic
  • Control traffic and operate communication devices
  • Conduct housekeeping activities

RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plan

You will study and learn:

  • Prepare to traffic management plan
  • Set out traffic guidance scheme
  • Monitor traffic guidance scheme
  • Close down work activities

You will study and learn:

  • Traffic Control Refresher course $120.00
  • Traffic Management Refresher course $120.00
  • Both Courses $190.00

Possible future pathways:

  • Certificate III Civil Construction Plant Operations
  • Certificate III Landscape Construction

Course Delivery:

This course is delivered in a classroom (with free tea and coffee) and practical based setting.

  • 4 X Nights = Monday – Thursday 5.00pm – 9.00pm

(no weekend or daytime courses are available)

All classes are held in our central location in Flemington (5 mins drive from Royal Children’s Hospital or 5 min walk from Newmarket station).

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic English literacy skills
  • All participants must provide a statement of attainment (original copy) showing these 2 units:
    • RIIWHS205E Control traffic with stop-slow bat
    • RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plan

These Units are only valid for 3 years. They must have expired no longer than 3 months ago. If they are older than that, you won’t be able to do the refresher course.

A basic level of reading, writing, listening and speaking is required. As part of the enrolment process, students are required to satisfactorily complete a LLN assessment.

All students need to ensure they are wearing closed toe shoes. No thongs, slippers or high heel shoes are permitted.

ID must be shown (Drivers license or passport) before the statement of attainment is received.
